Other News
• About 12 families were badly affected by the flood on 26th July 2005.

• In the month of May 2006, the BMC got the order to demolish the cross opposite Nandi Talkies. On three or four occasions the police came to give us a warning. 25th May 2006 at 1.00 pm BMC bought a bulldozer with a van full of 30 to 40 riot police to demolish the cross. One of our Zone members immediately took the action and contacted David Cardoz and Edwin Brito.
Our Zone members alongwith the people of other faith collected before the cross. David Cardoz presented to them the copy of the entire papers submitted to the BMC, stating that the cross was built Iin 1937 on the private property and not illegal further it is on the side of the road and not obstructing or causing hindrance to traffic or people.
After long arguments and discussion the officals of the BMC took measurements of the area and were convinced and satisfied. Finally they withdrew the demolishing.
Our Zone community celebrated the victory of the cross, recited rosary and had a get-together. We also celebrated the cross feast on 1st of June with a get-together.
