NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church
28th March 2010

  1. On Palm Sunday morning, a special family prayer card will be distributed to your homes along with a loaf of ‘Blessed Bread’. We suggest that your family come together for this prayer just before lunch.
    SCC animators are requested to pick up the same for your families from the parlour. Families of other parishes may pick up a prayer card and the blessed bread from the St. Peters parlour from 7 a.m. onwards. 
  2.  Lenten Confessions are from this Monday to Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m. in the School Shed. 
  3.  On 1st April is  Maundy Thursday. The Programme that day is as follows:
    At 12:30 p.m.  we will have the blessing of Bread at the room used by the Youth
    Centre.
    The Special Service for the Sick will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the Church Grounds.
    The Service of the Lord’s Supper will be at 7:30 p.m. on the Grounds
    At 11 p.m. we will spend 45 minutes in prayer in the Church.
    Please look up your Lenten programme for other details. 
  4. After the Easter Vigil the Parish Prayer Group will be organising a sale of snack boxes and cold drinks at the St. Peters Square. All proceeds will go to help our Sick and Aged Priest at the Clergy Home, Bandra. A box is kept with our Church Receptionist for your donations in cash and cheques made out to ‘Archdiocese of Bombay’
    Our Hindi Prayer group will be selling Easter Eggs from Tuesday onward. The proceeds goes toward the Hindi convention.   
  5. All youth -- and that includes those who have just finished their 10th Std exams this year -- are invited to our Parish Youth Camp to be held from the 26th – 28th April at Kune Missions, Khandala. Forms for the Same will be made available at our reception counter from this Wednesday. 
  6. Those interested in   attending our Summer Parish   Family Holiday camps   at   our St Stanislaus Villa Lonavala, are requested to pick up a form from the Church reception counter. 
  7.  On Pro-Life Day, 25th March we blessed our new ‘Pro-Life monument’ which has been put up next to the Grotto. After this Eucharist do spare a minute to say a little Pro-Life prayer that has been displayed there.

  9. This Evening, Saturday  27th,March  from  8:30 p.m. we have  ‘Earth Hour’. Let us come together in solidarity for Earth’s Sake.  ‘Earth Hour’ symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in the fight against climate change. 
    You are requested to put all lights off from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. You are most welcome to spend that time at the St. Peters Square, to relax and chat with friends under the light of the Stars.

  1. Since there is a lot of congestion at the Main Gate  which leads to the St. Peters Square, from next Sunday, we request all those coming by Rickshaws to stop at ‘Gate 2’, that is the one near the Grotto.
    Those of you who find it difficult to walk may bring the Rickshaw down the slope which has been built at ‘Gate 2’ and go right up to the Ramp at the side entrance of the Church. 
  2.  Last Sunday we announced about the Elections for Zonal Representatives to our Parish Council. Those of you who would like to Represent their zones are requested to leave their names at the parish Office by the 28th March. 
  3. We will have our 30 minutes ‘Searching the Scripture session’ this Tuesday after the evening mass. 
  4. The Divine Mercy Devotion will be held in our Church on Wednesday, 24th March from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. 
  5. Our Medical Centre will have a Pathologist in attendance every Monday and Friday form 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.. Special Concessions up to 30% will be given on all investigations. 
  6. The Y.S.S. will be organising a Blood Donation Drive tomorrow/Today, Sunday,  from 8.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the YSS Conference Hall. You are invited to ‘Donate  Blood and Save a life’. 
  7. Mount Carmel’s Church invites you to JesusFest, a programme which includes gospel music and a candle light procession. The JesusFest will be held on their grounds on 26th March from 7:30 p.m. 
  8. On March 27th,  at 8:30 p.m. millions of people around the world will make a bold statement about their concern about climate change by turning off their lights for one hour.  ‘Earth Hour’ symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in the fight against climate change. 
    What do you have to do?: On Saturday March 27th  you are requested to put all lights off from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. You are most welcome to spend that time at the St. Peters Square, to relax and chat with friends under the light of the Stars.

  11.  Please look up the Notice Board for a talk by Dr. Ajit Dandekar of Holy Family Hospital on ‘Mental Health of Senior Citizens’ on 21st March. 
  12. After this Eucharist do take a look at our new’ Pro Life Memorial’ which is near the grotto. We will have the Blessing of this  Pro Life Memorial after the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday.

  1. You are reminded to attend a talk  on ‘How to manage family finances’ on Sunday at 11.00 a.m. in Our Lady’s Room. 
  2. Youth and all others are invited to a ‘Taize Prayer Service’ which will give you an  opportunity to experience praying with beautiful Christian Chants as done in the little Village of Taize in France where 1000s of youth participate every week. This service will be conducted at the St. Joseph Convent Chapel from 8 – 10 p.m. this Monday 15th March. 
  3.  “For Earth Sake – Cycle”. All Youth are invited to spread the awareness of  Cycling to save the earth. We will do this through a relaxed cycle trip to Gorai and back this Wednesday, 17th March. Please register at the Parish reception counter or get in touch with Fr. Gerard.

  12. Legion of Mary members are invited to their annual function at the Mount tomorrow/today Sunday at 5:30 p.m. 
  13. This Sunday, the sermon at all Masses was on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To help you make a good confession, you are requested to pick up a card entitled “Coming Home” from the tables placed outside the Church.

  1. The Family Cell at St. Peter’s Parish is organizing a talk to empower families on how to manage their finances. The talk by Mr. Anil Manuja will be held on Sunday 14th March at 11.00 a.m. in Our Lady’s Room. Kindly register your names at the reception latest by 10th March.
