Peter's Church

- This
Tuesday, 2nd Feb. is the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in the temple.
Blessing of candles will take place at all Masses.
- Wednesday,
3rd Feb. is the feast of St. Blaise.
- All Groups
and Associations are reminded to pick up their ‘Shukriya’ Forms from the
Reception counter. The last day to submit filled forms is next Sunday.
- There will
be a get-together for Lectors at 5 p.m. on 7th Feb in Our Lady’s Room. Kindly
register at the reception counter latest by 1st Feb.
- The St Andrews parish invites you next Sunday to participate
in the 75th Anniversary of their Consecrating Bandra to ‘Christ the King’.
Adoration at St. Andrews Church will be at 5 p.m. and the programme on the St. Andrews School grounds at 6:15 p.m.
- Our Parish
Pilgrimage to the Mount will be held on Friday, 12th February. We will assemble
on our Front grounds at 7:45 a.m. Mass at the Mount will be at 8:30 a.m.
- Our Mass to
pray for all those appearing for their board exams will be held at 10 a.m. on
Sunday, 21st February.
- Since we get
regular complaints about footwear placed outside ‘The Emmaus Chapel’ being
stolen, we would like to inform you that you may now wear your footwear in the
Chapel. However, you are requested to use the door mat before entering. Those
of you who would still prefer to remove your footwear may do so at your own
risk.

- We will have
an ‘Inter-Faith Prayer service’ on Republic Day, in each of our SCC
Zones.
Please invite your non-Christian neighbours to attend. Details of this
prayer
service will be given to you by your zonal core group members.
- The Senior
Citizens’ Association will be having their monthly housie this Thursday
at 5.30
p.m. in Our Lady’s Room. All are welcome.
- There will

celebration of World Peace Day, ‘Cadenza Kantori’ presents A CONCERT
FOR PEACE
AND HARMONY on 1st Feb at 7.00 a.m. at Mount Mary’s

- Since we get

program on Apologetics (i.e.
explaining and defending the faith) titled
“Catholic and loving it” at our Church, from Friday
29th to Sunday
31st January 2010, everyday after the evening Mass.
A
former Protestant and now a renowned Catholic apologist
Mr. Steve Ray, is being specially flown in from America
to speak on controversial
topics like:

Are Catholics
born again?
-
The primacy
of Peter,
-
The doctrines
on Mary
-
and the Holy
Eucharist as a sacrifice.
Please do attend in
large numbers: you will not be disappointed

- Next year
the First Holy Communions will be held at our Church on the feast of
Epiphany,
Sunday, 2nd January 2011 at the 10 a.m. Mass.
- As you
are aware a number of our Catholics are being influenced and weaned
away from
the Catholic Church. The Family of Faith Foundation, Bandra with Bishop
Agnelo
Gracias as Convener are organizing a program on Apologetics (i.e.
explaining
and defending the faith), titled “Catholic and loving it”. This
programme will
be held at our church & front ground from 29th to 31st January
after the
evening Mass. A former Protestant, and now world renowned Catholic
apologist of
EWTN fame – STEVE RAY will speak on various controversial.
On the Day of the Steve Ray programme, we would like to
inform you that no Church programme should be held on the Campus at the
time of
the programme so as to have as many of ours free to attend.
Because of the Programme ‘Catholic and loving it’, we will
not have the 7:45 p.m. Mass on Sat. 30th evening.
- Our
Parish Weekly Adult Catechesis sessions have resumed and are conducted
by Fr.
Benji every Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at the Holy Cross room. The topic is
“Biblical Personalities” – A prayerful study”. All are
welcome.
- From the
18th to 25th January we have Unity Octave a time when we prayer in a
special
way for the Unity of the Church. While we will have a special prayer at
every
mass, you are requested to pray as individuals and as families for the
same.
- Like last
year, on Republic Day, we will have an ‘Inter Faith Prayer service’ at
each of
our SCC Zones. You are urged to attend and also invite your
Non-Christian
neighbours to attend. Details will be given to you by your Zonal
members.
- The
Daughters of St. Paul cordially invite you all to an All-Religious
Prayer
Service to be held on Sunday, on 24th Jan p.m.
at Mt. Carmel Church
Hall. Please
look up the Notice Board

- St.

- Advocates
will render Free Assistance this Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. in the Church
Parlour.
- We will
have our 30 minutes ‘Searching the Scripture’ Session this Tuesday in
Church,
soon after the Evening mass.
- The Hope
& Life Movement will have an urgent meeting this Tuesday at
6.p.m. to
discuss the Annual Day to be held on 31st January, 2010.
- Our

New Year
is a time to make Resolutions: We suggest that if you haven’t already
got into
the habit of making the 2 minute ‘Morning Offering’ & ‘Night
Examen’, then
this New year would be a good time to start. These prayer cards are
placed in
the boxes outside the church.
- The Mass
timings today - New Years day - are
in
the morning as of Sunday. In
the evening
we will have a 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Mass.
- This
Sunday, the Feast of the
Epiphany, 35 of our
children will receive Jesus for the
first time. Do carry on keeping them in your prayers.
- You are
reminder to drop your old greeting Cards at the parlour. We will send
them to
the Home for the Aged at Mahakali, Andheri for recycling.
- After
the Midnight Mass you are all invited to the St.
Peters Square to fellowship over a cup of coffee & a piece of
cake.
