St.
Peter's Church 27th December 2009

- On the
Sundays of the Christmas Octave, and so this Saturday and Sunday too, we will
be serving coffee free of charge on the St. Peters square after the Sat 6:45
p.m. and the Sunday 8, 9, 10 a.m. and the 6 p.m. Masses. We will be happy if
you would come and fellowship for a few minutes over a cup of coffee.
- We would
be happy if you send us a write up on the Joy you experienced in Simple ways
either a long time ago or this year at Christmas. Please send us this article
for the Keystone in not more than 250 words by the 5th January latest.
- While our
parish Calendar is being distributed at your homes, those of you who would like
an additional one may buy it at Rs 25 from the Church stall
.
- On
Monday, 28th December, the Feast of Holy Innocents, we will have the Blessing
of children after the 7.15 p.m. Mass in the church.
- Our
Parish Pilgrimage to the Mount will be on the 12th Feb 2010.
- College
of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan will be conducting a three-month course in
Social Work for Senior Citizen, please look up the Notice Board for details.
- God Bless
you for the Christmas collection which amounted to Rs.1,90,845/-

- Today the
Masses in the Church will be as of Sunday. There will be no evening mass.
We once again remind you of our Christmas theme: “Rediscover
the Simple Joys of Christmas”. Please see the banners along the road for
various ways of living out this message.
We would be happy if you would send us a write up on the Joy
you experienced in Simple ways either a long time ago or this year at
Christmas. Please send us this article for the Keystone in not more than 250
words by the 5th January latest. - While our

- Our
Parish Christmas programme is as follows:
a. We will
have our ‘House Bound Christmas Mass’ on Thursday, 24th Dec. at 4:15 p.m.
Arrangements will be made for Transportation, wheel chairs, stretchers etc.
Please register your house bound family members or neighbours at the Reception
counter.
This is open to parishioners of other parishes too.
Those of you who would like to help by offering their
vehicles or getting the house hound to church are requested to leave their
names with our Receptionist.
b. The
Christmas Night Mass will be on Thursday, 24th Dec at 10:30 p.m. on the School
grounds. The Christmas Day Masses will
be as of Sunday. There will be no evening Mass.
c. We
remind you to use the Advent & Christmas Family Prayer Card and Candle for
your Prayer on Christmas day.
d. This year
the theme of our Christmas Celebrations is, “Rediscover the Simple Joys of
Christmas”. Here are a few ways how you may
"Rediscover the Simple Joys of Christmas":
• By Making
Christ the Centre of Christmas
• Through
Quality Family Time or a Quiet Prayer Time
• By being
Cheerful or Through Random Acts of Kindness
Please look up
the banners along the road to find out many more ways of "Rediscovering
the
Simple Joys of
Christmas". - Tomorrow/Today,
Sunday evening we will have an informal time singing carols & chatting at
the St. Peters Square after the 6 p.m. Mass. If you play the Guitar don’t
forget to bring it along.
- We would
like to inform all SCC & association members that as usual this year we
will have ‘Shukriya’ on the Sunday before Valentines day, that is Sunday, 7th
February evening.
- We
encourage you to display a Christmas star in your homes, buildings or zones.

- The
residents of St. Anthony’s Road present
‘Carols 2009’ on Sunday, at 6.30 p.m.
- St.
Peter’s Medical Centre is organizing a Bone Density – Osteoporosis Camp on
Sunday, 17th Jan 2010 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- The St.
Aloysius High School Bandra, will be inaugurating its Centenary Year from the
8th – 10th Jan. Ex-teachers & Former teachers are requested to contact the
school office.
- Sr.
Christobelle of Mother Theresa’s Roses
has come out with a ‘Christmas Carols CD’ which is on sale at our Stall. The
proceeds goes towards her charity work.
- Our
Parish is happy to present each Family our Parish Calendar 2010. Zonal Bulletin
distributors are requested to collect their sets from the parish Office.
- Fr. Blaise
sj of our twinned Mission station at Ashagad thanks you for your contribution of Rs. 3,84,810.
- The amount
collected by our Parish
Charistmatic Group Snacks & Jumble sale was Rs. 1,20,000. The
proceeds goes towards the Jesuit Infirmary & the Catholic Charismatic
Convention at Vasai.

- All
college & working youth are invited to a ‘Taize Prayer Service’ at which
thousands of youth from around the world have attended. This beautiful Service
will be held this Monday, 14th Dec at 8 p.m. Sharp at the St. Joseph Convent
Chapel, across the road.
- The
‘Paranjyoti Academy Chorus’ presents ‘Christmas Music from Around the World’.
This will be held at our Church this Tuesday 15th Dec from 8 – 9 p.m.
- Christmas
Confessions will be held on the 19th, 21st and 22nd Dec. from 5 to 8 p.m. in
the School Shed.
- We
encourage you to make a good display of stars in your homes, buildings or
zones. The theme is ‘Simple Joy’. For entries contact Fr. Juan.

- Young and
old who would like to experience the joy of Christmas by going Carol Singing
may leaves their names at the Church parlour by 15th Dec.
- We will
have our 30 minutes ‘Searching The Scripture’ Session this Tuesday after the
7:15 p.m. Mass in Church. The Theme is ‘The Birth of Jesus Foretold ‘
- Envelopes
for this years ‘Archdiocese Advent
Campaign Against Hunger and Disease’ are placed in the boxes outside the
Church. Filled envelops may be dropped in our Community Fund boxes.
- This
Advent & Christmas we would like you to “Rediscover the Simple Joys of
Christmas” You may find some suggestions on our Advent & Christmas
Programme sheet.
- Those of
you young or old who would like to help a senior person in their Christmas
house cleaning & decorating may leave their names at the Church reception
counter.
If you know of any housebound person or senior who would
require help in their Christmas house
cleaning & decorating, please drop their names at the reception counter. We
would send 2-3 reliable persons to help
out as needed. - If you
would like to help out with the Church cleaning and the decorating of the
church rooms please leave you names at
the Church Reception counter.
- We are
happy to invite all college & working youth to the popular ‘Taize Prayer
Service’ which originated in the Little village in France. This service at
which thousands of youth from around the world have participated in will be
held at Our St. Joseph Convent Chapel, across the road on Monday, 14th Dec at 8 p.m. Sharp. Please come
on time and bring your friends along.

outside our church.
