NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church

  1.   As we begin the Advent Season today, we would like to remind you about your Family Prayer. We have distributed Advent Prayer cards and Candles for the Same. Just in case the Candle sticker peals off please use the spare one that has been given to you.
     Those of you who would like to buy an Advent candle & prayer  may pick one sold at a discount at our parish Stall. 
  2. This year the Theme of the  ‘Archdiocese Advent Campaign Against Hunger and Disease’ is “Stand up for Peace and Harmony”. Envelops for the same are placed in the boxes outside the Church. For details please look up the notice board. 
  3.  All Associations and Zones are requested to work on their 2010 Six-months plan. The plan should reach the parish office by the 1st week of December. Please pick up the guidelines for the same from the Sacristy. 
  4.  This Advent & Christmas we would like you to “Rediscover the Simple Joys of Christmas”. You may find some suggestions on our Advent & Christmas Programme sheet. 
  5.  Those of you young or old who would like to help a senior person in their Christmas house cleaning & decorating may leave their names at the Church reception counter.
    If you know of any housebound person or senior who would require  help in their Christmas house cleaning & decorating, please drop their names at the reception counter. We would send 2-3  reliable persons to help out as needed. 
  6. If you would like to help out with the Church cleaning and the decorating of the church rooms, please leave you names at the Church Reception counter. 
  7.  We are starting a Junior K.G. from June 2010. Application Forms for the Junior K.G. will be issued on 30th November, 2009. Please check the Notice Board for details. 
  8. The Catholic Sabha Christmas Card sale is on for the next two weeks in the evenings. 
  9. The YSS is organising the RINK FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT from 6th  to 13 Dec ’09 in the evenings.  
  10.  The Parish Prayer Group will have after this mass a jumble sale of children’s clothes, gift & food  items. Proceeds will go to Our Jesuit Infirmary at Vinayalaya and the National Catholic Charismatic Convention. 
  11. We will never get tired of reminding you to Make your ‘Morning offering’ and ‘Night Examen’. Copies of this 2 minute prayer are placed outside the Church. 
  12.  Please pick up a copy of our Church Advent and Christmas programme placed in the boxes outside our church.

NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church
22nd November 2009

  1.  Today is the ‘Feast of Christ the King’. While there will be no Jesus Club Mass, we will have our Jesus Club classes as usual at   9 a.m. We will have a  45 minutes guided adoration for all in the church immediately after the 10 a.m. mass. The rest of the day the church will be kept open.
    In the evening the 5 p.m. mass will be in English after which we will have our ‘Christ the King’ procession.
    The route of the procession is as follows: We start off from the Church after the 5 p.m. Mass, go down Manuel Gonsalves Road, to  Almeida Park, the 1st Road, down to Prof. Almedia Road and along Hill Road back to the Church.
    After the procession please wait behind for a little fellowship over a cup of coffee & a piece of cake at St. Peter’s Square.
    Please note: There will be no 6 p.m. Mass on Sunday.

  6.    ‘Celebrate Bandra’ is  organising a get-together for Senior Citizens this Monday at 5.30 p.m. at Carter Road promenade. 
  7.  The Bombay Catholic Saba Christmas Card sale is on for the next two weeks in the evenings. 
  8.  The St. Vincent de Paul Conference will be having their feast Mass on 29th November at 8.00 a.m. in our Church followed by a get-together at St. Joseph’s Convent Mini Hall. All Vincentians who would like to join please contact any of the members by Tuesday 24th Nov ‘09. 
  9.  The YSS is organising the RINK FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT from 6th  to 13 Dec ’09 in the evenings. Well wishers may donate in cash or kind. 
  10.   The Parish Prayer Group announces a jumble sale of children’s clothes & gift items, including food items on the next two weekends. Proceeds will go to our Jesuit Infirmary at Vinayalaya and the National Catholic Charismatic Convention. 
  11.  Please look up the Notice Board for The Stop-Gaps programme entitled ‘A Festival of Festive Music’ on 12th & 13th Dec at the N.C.P.A.

  2. In Preparation for the ‘Feast of Christ the King’ we will have a ‘Three day Mission’ conducted by the Redemptorist Fr. Lester. The Mission will start from this Monday, 18th to Friday 20th Nov. This will be in the evening with Mass at 7:15 p.m. While it is open to all we urge our youth to attend too.
  3. We will have a special programme for Youth, titled ‘Google Jesus’ this Saturday, 21st November at 7:30 p.m. at the Mini Hall. Like our Last months programme do come in large numbers and invite your friends too.
  4. This Tuesday, Bulletin Distributors are requested to collect, your sets of ‘Family Advent Candles’ and ‘Family Prayer cards’ &  stickers  which are to be distributed at your zones.
  5. The Hope & Life group will have their Meeting & Mass for their   spouses this Wednesday at 6.00 p.m.
  6. The Family Cell will Meet, this Saturday at 6.00 p.m.
  7. The Parish Team would be very happy if each of you get into the habit of making your ‘Morning Offering’ and ‘Night Examen’. Please collect a copy of the same from the boxes placed out side the Church, in Sacristy and with our Parish Receptionist.
  8. God bless you for our last weekend collection of Rs.70,820/- and All Saints Day Rs.29,880/-. The food sale collection on Mission Sunday was Rs.50,000/-.

  1.   We will be having a short Parish Mission by Redemptorist, Fr. Lester from 18th – 20th November. This mission is  in preparation for the Feast of Christ the King. More details will be given next week. 
  2.   Advocates will render Free Assistance this Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. in the Church Parlour. 
  3.   We will have our 30 minutes ‘Searching the Scripture’ Session this Tuesday in Church, soon after the Evening mass. 
  4.   Inviting all choir members and cantors for a Christmas midnight Mass choir practice on Friday, 13th Nov after the evening mass at 7.45 p.m. 
  5.   The Civic Cell will meet on Saturday 14th Nov at 4.00 p.m. 
  6.   Examiner subscribers are requested to renew their subscription for  the year 2010 at Rs.450/-. New subscribers may book their Christmas issue at Rs.40/-.
