CHILDREN - OUR WEALTH
For it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs (Mk. 10:13)

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as we fondly recall
'Chacha' by children he was lovingly called,
Children were just children in the good ole days
Allowing their peers to guide their ways.

Yes, children are still children, beautiful and bright,
It's the elders who have to teach them, wrong from right.
The values we inculcate will help them withstand,
Life's stress, strife and sacrifices to live out God's plan.

Children are the wealth of a progressive Nation,
They are the ones who will uphold our tradition.
Teach them the value of love and compassion
Of which fairness and tolerance should be their idealism.

When we look around, and see what's going on ---
Curriculums on bombs, terrorism is the norm,
Violence, no matter the cause, will not be permitted,
Let education emphasise these values which are needed.

'Example is the best teacher' is a well known fact,
Yet, acts of hatred, injustice is the example we enact,
The media, films and exaggerated advertisements
Are confusing children, creating unstable conditions.

Save our Children ---- spare them, we pray!
From adults, who on one another, hungrily do prey,
There's no justification to lead other astray
Bring back the innocence of our children -----
Let them bloom and grow each day!

(Dedicated to all children on 'Bal Din' for the ignominy they suffer due to the foolishness of us, adults.)
