Keystone August 2007 - Our Parish Bulletin

Editorial

This year
as we celebrate 60 years of our independence, we are still to recover from the trauma of the bomb blasts. I am reminded of what Mahatma Gandhi said, "An eye for an eye will soon turn the whole world blind."

Gandhi brought the British empire to a speedy downfall only with his spirit of non-violence and non-cooperation. But today in our country and in the world, we are trying to control violence and terrorism with more violence. In doing so, we are creating more violence!

We have to try and solve our conflicts through dialogue and discussion and not by the law of the jungle, which is the survival of the fittest. On the table of dialogue, the mouse and the elephant should be treated equally.

-Fr. Aloysius Murzello, s.j.
